Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need insurance?
Edgecumbe Secure Storage does NOT provide insurance for your goods while stored onsite. Insurance of your goods is solely your responsibility and while not compulsory we do recommend all goods stored are insured and suggest you check with your insurance provider.
What am I NOT allowed to store in my storage unit?
You are prohibited from storing hazardous, flammable, noxious, illegal goods, stolen goods, food or perishables, plant matter or explosive goods.
What size storage containers are available?
All our containers are 20ft (33 m³), we also have parking spaces available for cars, boats, motorhomes, caravans, trucks etc.
Who has access to my storage unit?
You provide the padlock to your unit, so only you will have the key to access.
What is the method of payment?

Payment can be made via online banking, credit card, eftpos or automatic payments. We require payment one month in advance, plus a bond for the gate fob which is refundable at the end of the hire period.

How does the billing work?
After you sign the Storage Contract we require payment for the first month in advance, plus the bond. Following on you may pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly in advance.
What if I get behind in my payments?
Give us a call to discuss your situation. If you do NOT pay your rental fees, as per the T’s and C’s of the Storage Agreement, we can deny access to your unit until payments are up to date. If you continue to not make payments, we reserve the right to sell your goods to recover monies owed.
What is the process of moving in?
Contact us and arrange a time to come in to fill in the Storage Agreement, bring your drivers licence or passport. Payment for the first month in advance plus bond is required. Once these are completed, we assign you a container plus a fob key for the gate and you are ready to move in.
What is the process for moving out?
Please let us know when you will be moving out, return your fob to us and we will refund your bond.
